PA
Engineering-Grade Polyamide (Nylon) for Demanding Applications
BEDROCK 3D® PA is based on a copolyamide 6/66 grade with a viscosity carefully selected for additive manufacturing purposes. With Bedrock 3D® PA, it is possible to print semi-flexible thin parts; however, it is very rigid at higher thicknesses. It has a lower melting temperature compared to PA6 and PA66, meaning it is more accessible on common 3D printers as it can be printed at a lower temperature. It also has better impact resistance versus PA6 and PA66, opening up a whole new application field for end-users.
- Exceptional Toughness – High elongation at break and superior fatigue resistance, even a low temperatures
- Built to Last – Outstanding wear resistance and impact strenght for demanding end-use parts
- Chemical Resistance – Excellent resistance to oils and greases for industrial and mechanical environments
- Flexible Where It Counts – Semi-flexible in thin walls, rigid at higher thicknesses. One versatile material, unlocks many applications

FAQ
Polyamide (nylon) has been one of the most trusted engineering materials in industry for decades – from gears and bearings to electrical insulators. BEDROCK 3D® PA brings that proven reliability into the world of 3D printing, with a smart advantage: its copolyamide 6/66 formulation delivers a lower melting point than pure PA6 or PA66, meaning it can be processed on standard FFF printers without the need for industrial high-temperature hardware.
At the same time, none of the tough, wear-resistant characteristics that polyamide is known for are sacrificed. Thin-walled parts take on a semi-flexible nature, while thicker geometries are exceptionally rigid and strong – ideal for functional prototypes and end-use parts that need to perform under real-world conditions.
Material Highlights
- Toughness & Impact Resistance
A high elongation at break makes BEDROCK 3D® PA resistant to sudden shocks and dynamic loads, even at low temperatures. It offers superior impact resistance compared to standard PA6 and PA66. - Excellent Wear Resistance
Naturally smooth and wear-resistant, this material is ideal for moving parts, sliding components, and surfaces subject to regular contact and friction. - Fatigue Resistance
BEDROCK 3D® PA maintains its properties under repeated loading cycles, making it well-suited for dynamically stressed and cyclically loaded applications. - Chemical Resistance
Resistant to oils, greases, and a wide range of chemicals — an essential property in industrial and mechanical environments. - Low Melting Point – Broad Printability
With a nozzle temperature of 220–250 °C, this filament is compatible with most common FFF printers, requiring no hardware modifications. - Electrical Insulation
PA has inherently strong electrical insulating properties, making it suitable for high-grade electrical components and enclosures.

- Thin-walled Flexible Parts
- Nozzle Temperature: 220-270 °C
- Build Chamber Temperature: 60 °C
- Bed Temperature: 90 – 120 °C
- Bed Material: Glass + PVA / Kapton tape / PA adhesive
- Nozzle Diameter: 0.4 mm / 0.6 mm / 0.8 mm
- Print Speed: 30 – 150 mm / s
Recommended
Use a closed printer for best results. If no active heating is available, keep the printer enclosed and preheat the bed for ~30 minutes before printing to stabilize the chamber temperature.
Drying recommendations
Essential for PA. Dry at 70 °C for 4–16 hours in a hot air dryer to ensure printability. For optimal mechanical properties, dry at 80 °C in a vacuum oven for at least 40 hours. Keep filament dry at all times to maintain consistent material properties.
